Most Frequently asked questions

What is the goal of CCU’s Programs?

The foundation of all of our programs at Cornerstone Christian University is our desire to nurture an increased awareness of the pre-eminence of the spiritual dimensions of human life through an appreciation of our Christian belief, as well as through an understanding of Biblical truth and religious values as they apply to daily life. Furthermore, our goal is to see one day that Christians in general incorporated the following five points into their life.

1. Written Communication: CCU seeks to introduce principles of effective written communication and guide students toward defining the writing situation and making sound rhetorical choices for presenting their ideas or arguments.

2. Christian Faith and Service: CCU seeks to expose students to the Judeo-Christian worldview and to the diversity of religious thoughts and perspectives in the world and help students clarify the role of faith in their life.

3. Physical and Social Well-Being: CCU seeks to foster lifelong habits for healthy living by promoting personal improvement of the mind, body, and spirit through the study and practice of physical and aesthetic principles in relation to biblical principles.

4. Human and Social Behavior: CCU seeks to encourage a broad understanding of humankind in order to appreciate the unique nature of the individual, the common patterns found among humanity, and the influence of external social forces on human behavior.

5. World Perspective: CCU seeks to enhance an understanding of the contemporary world through a study of its historical, literary, artistic, and philosophical foundations.

Special note: The university catalog is constantly under revision and re-evaluation for its effectiveness.

Why should Christians be trained?

So they can “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone that asks them to give the reason for the hope that they have.” (I Peter 3:15 NIV).

Ephesians 4:12-13 gives us another answer to this question.

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Our mission is that CCU to be a Leadership Training Center for God's people seeking to illuminate the world with the Word of God. This mission is grounded on these three fundamental truths:

1.       “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have,” (1 Pet. 3:15 NIV).

How do we get prepared?

2.       “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth,” (2 Tim. 2:15 NKJV).

How do we study then?

“For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little,” (Is.28:10 NKJV).

OBJECTIVE STATEMENT

CCU’s objective is that every Christian will be able to stand their own ground and to defend their faith with knowledge as someone who is prepared. “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God,” (Rom.14:12). This objective also bring many years of experience in many other fields of study into this ministry to better equip students to be more effective ministers.

It is CCU’s utmost goal to assist you in attaining the highest degree of qualified learning in the fields of your ministry and theology that your commitment, your time, and your budget will allow. This objective will be carried worldwide to those who feel the call of God!

STATEMENT OF STANDARDS

All students must give testimony of having accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. Each student is expected to live, act, talk, and dress so that at no time will they bring reproach upon the name of Christ. Any student who is unable to maintain the standards of the seminary will be dismissed.

All students are expected to manifest the highest standards of Christian living and conduct. They are required to attend regular church services. Those under directed studies are expected to be members of a local church and support that church as well as those who are enrolled in the classroom and attend church locally.

 STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The student body is open to all denominations. We hold the philosophy that a man with a high school education may study for a bachelor degree in religion without a prerequisite bachelor degree in the arts or sciences. We are not in competition with other channels of education. We offer this service for those who desire and feel a need for it.

Cornerstone is guided by five purposes:

First, the work of the Seminary is designed to offer professional training for pastors, evangelists, educational directors and those engaged in various forms of Christian educational work.

Second, Cornerstone seeks to equip these leaders with skills, which will make them effective in their service of the Word through the life of the churches and denominations. Graduates of Cornerstone are encouraged to pursue the sound learning and vital dignity of the professional Christian work.

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15 NIV).

 Purposes of Guidance:

First, the work of the Seminary is designed to offer professional training for pastors, evangelists, educational directors and those engaged in various forms of Christian educational work.

Second, Cornerstone seeks to equip these leaders with skills, which will make them effective in their service of the Word through the life of the churches and denominations. Graduates of Cornerstone are encouraged to pursue the sound learning and vital dignity of the professional Christian work.

Third, Cornerstone serves all levels. Whatever one's educational level, he or she is invited to participate. The ability to do degree work deserves degree recognition.

Fourth, the Seminary recognizes other schools, seminaries, and colleges. However, the CCU alone determines credit recognition.

Fifth, Cornerstone holds the philosophy that an individual does not need to hold a position in a church in order to study for a biblical degree.
