MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?

First, it would be advantageous to enroll with Cornerstone because of the spiritual devotion among the students.

Second, is the financial advantage. The cost for attending Cornerstone is only a fraction of the amount required to obtain liberal arts degree.

Third, is a learning advantage.  Cornerstone offers individual attention to each of its students. The faculty-student relationship wilt inevitably extends beyond the classroom. The school has pastors teaching pastors.

Last, there is an experience advantage. Each student who attends in residence will have a chance to serve in a local church. Those who study under the Off‑Campus Program will be receiving actual on‑the‑job experience while completing studies with Cornerstone.

WHO MAY ENROLL?

Any person who has accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his or her Savior may enroll as a student with Cornerstone. Regardless of one's educational background he or she may become a student. Those who have not finished high school may enroll under the first three years and receive a Bible education. Those who are high school graduates may proceed to a degree.

WHO PROFITS FROM CORNERSTONE'S PROGRAMS?

Those who want to receive a Bible education and be more effective for God: those who have had some training and want to continue but cannot leave their field at employment and return to school, and those who have graduated from other schools who wish additional degrees, may profit from Cornerstone's program.  

WHEN MAY YOU ENROLL?

Since Cornerstone only offer Home Studies programs, you may enroll any day, and at any time of the year, regardless of the program.

   

WHAT COURSES ARE OFFERED BY CORRESPONDENCE? 

All courses and programs listed in this catalogue may be taken through the Off‑Campus Study Program. You may enroll under the Seminary or the Bible Institute and earn a Degree or Bible Diploma herein offered.

 

DOES CORNERSTONE OFFERS ACCELERATED COMBINATION TRACK LEADING TO DOUBLE MAJOR?

Yes!  CTS offers the ACCELERATED COMBINATION TRACK leading to double majors. The accelerated track allows you to complete two degrees programs at the same time. This is designated for applicants who substantially exceeded the minimum prerequisite for the program level selected through approved credits transfer. 

 

WILL CORNERSTONE ACCEPT CREDITS FROM OTHER COLLEGES AND SEMINARIES?

Yes, Cornerstone will accept credits from any other recognized school. However, any transferred course must be carried at least a “C” as final grade.

 

 

HOW LONG IS THE PROGRAM?

The length of time to complete a program or a course is solely dependent on the ability and the determination of the student. Each program is different due number of credit hour required. A 30 credit hour consists of 10 courses, which will take a student a minimum of 8-10 months, whereas other program may require 5-10 and last longer. The graduate programs carry more credits. Therefore, will take you longer.

 

 

CAN I STUDY IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE OTHER THAN ENGLISH?

Yes! However, at this time, we only offer courses in French. Other language may become available in the future.

 

 

DOES CORNERSTONE OFFER DISCOUNT FOR COUPLES WHO REGISTER ATTENDS TOGETHER?

Yes. Cornerstone offers a discount of 40% to couple who attends at the same time. The discount applies to the lesser tuition of the two.

 

DOES CORNERSTONE ALLOW MONTHLY PAYMENTS?

Cornerstone asks that all students pay their tuition in full at the time of enrollment and offers a 20% discount or free textbooks to those who enroll for paying in full. However) if you need to pay by installments, you may pay the 10% down payment at the time of enrollment and the balance in equal monthly payments.

 

 

DOES CORNERSTONE OFFER RESIDENT STUDIES?

Not currently! Cornerstone does not offer resident studies. All courses are designed for Distance Learning where student study at his or own space.

 

CAN A MINISTER GET CREDIT FOR PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE?

Because Cornerstone is an institution, which offers professional degrees in the field of Bible, Theology, Pastoral Ministry, and Christian Education, you may receive up to 30-semester hours credit for pastoral experience, at the rate of six-semester hours credit for a year of pastoral ministry. You should contact the Seminary or Institute for evaluation.

A Counselor will assist you to create a combination of your education and/or relevant adult learning experiences, which will qualify you to earn the Associate in Practical Ministry with the minimum six course (30 credits) requirement

 

 

CAN I RECEIVE ORDINATION CREDENTIALS THROUGH CORNERSTONE?

Yes! There are two levels of credentials offered; Licensed Minister, and Ordained Minister. The requirements for each level are different, with some requiring several years of proven ministry. To apply, there is an application that must be fully completed and submitted along with the $75.00 application fee. Each year, the credentials must be renewed by completing a simple renewal form and returning it with the $50.00 renewal fee or you can choose to pay a Life Time membership fee of $250.00. Ordination through CTS does not require our ministers to tithe back to us. However, donation always welcomed due to the nature of ministry we are involved in.

 

 

WHAT ABOUT ACCREDITATION?

Believing in separation of church and state, the seminary does not seek to be accredited by the state accrediting association. The school is not affiliated or recognized by the government of the Department of Education in the State of Florida.

This position gives Cornerstone the right and the opportunity to teach God’s word without interference from the government.

However, CTS is duly and fully dedicated to offer the best quality Christian Education. CTS is a candidate member seeking full accreditation with the Accrediting Commission International for Colleges, and Theological Seminaries, a non governmental agency that accredits religious schools and seminaries.
